AMA: Tell us a little about what Cuppa SEO Web Design does.
I’m a native New Yorker living in West Madison since 2006. In addition to running my web design firm, I also wrote a book called, A Holistic Guide to Online Marketing, and I often present workshops based on the material in the book. In addition, I host a podcast called Getting Under The Surface, which focuses on mindfulness, marketing, self care and relationships — including the relationship you have with yourself.
Cuppa SEO is a custom web design firm specializing in SEO, user experience, conversion, and Google Ads. When we work with clients, our main goal is to help them get found online, build trust, and make it as easy as possible for their website visitors to become customers. Essentially, it’s all about relationship building.
AMA: What makes a call-to-action effective?
One of the ways to make a call-to-action effective is to think about what the website visitor’s pain point (or problem) is. If we make it about the website visitor and offer them a solution that removes or lessens their pain, that’s a great start. In other words, make it about them, not us.
AMA: Can you give us a preview of the strategies marketers can use to remove “noise” and distraction from their website?
One strategy is to remove unnecessary movement from a website — like when content or imagery moves onto the page when you scroll down. You see this type of movement all the time, it’s ubiquitous, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good thing. If there’s not a clear, compelling reason to use movement, just get rid of it.
AMA: What is the big takeaway people can expect from attending the event?
How the “Introduction vs. the First Date,” philosophy can appeal to 80% or more of website visitors. To hear more about this philosophy, you’ll have to attend the presentation!
