SUMMARY:Delivering Low-Cost\, High-Impact Marketing for Nonprofits
DESCRIPTION:Learn from a case study on creative marketing tactics the Madison Reading Project has used to expand their reach and impact.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nAMA Madison’s Craft Marketing Series continues on September 29th when Rowan Childs\, founder of the Madison Reading Project\, will share her insights about building a successful nonprofit. Many underserved local children can enjoy reading books at home\, thanks to this literacy-based nonprofit. \nThe free virtual presentation begins at 4 p.m. with networking.\nThanks to Winbound\, our sponsor. \n\n\nAbout the Presentation\n\n\nMarketing continues to play a critical role in growing the nonprofit’s reach for new partners\, volunteers and donors. \nMadison Reading Project started as a pilot program in 2014 with a $1000 seed donation. Organizers started with 100 books at one location\, working with 30 children. Since then\, the nonprofit has grown to work with thousands of children\, over 100 community partners\, and has distributed over 150\,000 books. \nLearn what type of creative marketing they used and still do today to get the word out and build awareness. \nAbout the Speaker \n\nRowan Childs\, Founder & Executive Director \nRowan shared with AMA the inspiration that led to her founding MRP. \n“As a mother of two children\, I know how important reading is for kids and adults and how it can also be a struggle. For many kids in our area\, a home library isn’t a choice. Over two thirds of children living in poverty do not have books at home. I was alarmed by this statistic and in 2013 I founded Madison Reading Project to address the low literacy rates among underserved children. \n“Our nonprofit has flourished with our hard work to provide quality books and literacy programming. We have been boosted by community support and is a testimony to the hard work and love we have dedicated. There is a huge need out there for even more kids to get their hands on quality books and literacy support.” \n\n \nPowered by Eventbrite
