Tell us a little about yourself and what Big Shoes Network does.

We exist to help you fill big shoes.  Big Shoes Network (BSN) promotes top jobs and internships in digital marketing and advertising, communications & social media, graphic & web design in IL, MN and WI. But WAIT, there’s more! BSN also provides networking and professional development connections, plus targeted and trusted content through our email newsletter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and website.

What are some of the core ways the past few years’ events have changed the recruitment marketing landscape?

Quality of life is now center stage as THE employment benefit. It fuels all other benefits. So, there’s a HUGE increase in remote and hybrid opportunities where very few truly remote jobs existed prior to COVID.

Internal and external employee engagement impact profit and bottom line like never before. Multiple studies have shown if your company/service has a negative (or non-existent) reputation as a good place to work, buyers – particularly Gen Z – won’t purchase your product: they’ll buy elsewhere – even if they aren’t looking for a new job.

What are some actions marketers can take to raise brand awareness and support recruitment?

Prior to COVID, Human Resources (HR) and employee communications (typically the work of Public Relations) didn’t work with Marketing for messaging and strategy.  Today, marketers are increasingly working to develop strategies with HR, PR and C-Suite teams to market your company as a great place to work.

What is the big takeaway people can expect if they attend the event?

Ideas,  validation, encouragement (in a really tough hiring market) and strategic Recruitment Marketing tips.
