There’s a little over a week left before our 2019 Annual Conference “Elevate with Authenticity” on Thursday, September 26th at the Park Hotel. Are you wondering what you can expect? Here’s a sneak peek into our closing keynote speaker, D.P. Knudten.

D.P. Knudten is Chief Collaborator at his business COLLABORATOR Creative here in Madison, Wisconsin. He has worked on some of the biggest brands in the business, including Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Great Wolf Resorts, ClosetMaid, and Georgia-Pacific, and at agencies like DDB Needham/Chicago and McCann Erickson/Atlanta.

What do you expect the audience to take away from your presentation, “Tell Your Big Story Small”?

That every company, service, product, and individual have a “completely true / completely you” story to tell—and audiences that are waiting to hear it but in a way that might be different from the way you already are.

What is holding companies back from telling their stories well?

The fact that they are telling the story they tell themselves, instead of the story their audience(s) are most receptive to hearing.

What is the biggest opportunity companies have to tell better stories?

Getting out of their head and into the heads of their audiences.

If you were not engaged in your current career, what would you be doing instead?

Stage acting around the U.S.

What is your favorite pizza?

Italian sausage, red onions, and black olives (or sometimes, green olives), on a super crunchy thin crust.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Anywhere quiet and on the water (salt or fresh).

What is a fun fact about you?

As a young actor, I starred in the Wisconsin DMV anti-drunk driving video called “The Last Night of Summer.”
